Abundant Blessings

It's almost time to put up our 2011 calendars. I'm so pleased to announce that this year's titles are being produced by Andrews McMeel. They are a fabulous company and I'm thrilled to be working with them on calendars as well as books.

We have two titles available this year, as in the past: Seasons of Friendship (featuring secular verse) and Abundant Blessings (featuring scripture). The names have changed slightly from the Lang titles, so don't be confused. They are still the same format and still filled to the brim with watercolor paintings and inspiring verse.

To find the Abundant Blessings wall calendars (formerly Beautiful Blessings), click these links: Andrewsmcmeel.com, calendars.com, and amazon.com.

For Seasons of Friendship all my other calendars, go to the home pages of the sites above and type in Shelly Reeves Smith in the search window. All of my books and stationery will appear.

I hope 2011 brings you all the joy your heart can hold!

Sweater Weather

It's that time of year again when the landscape is truly picture-perfect. The past few weeks, even after the trees shed their leaves, I've been inspired every time I look out the window, or round a bend in the road.

This time of year also reminds me of the last time we had highs in the 40's here in Missouri. It was last winter, when we welcomed our son into the world.

I hope to share pictures of his first few months sometime, but for now, here are the latest pictures of our little man. I think he looks so handsome in his sweater that Orin, his first friend (and fellow handsome guy) loaned him.

Ison was born the last day of February 2010. It was so cold and windy the day we brought him home from the hospital, I know I put too many layers on him. We couldn't wait to get him home to our warm little house. Here is a picture of my husband and Ison taking a nap. After seeing this, my friend Cara asked "Who's putting who to sleep?"

Those first few weeks, it seemed impossible to imagine him fitting into sweaters and jeans. "Just One Year" is a brand name that I've noticed for months on his little stuffed giraffe. Only now do I get what it means. As his feet get closer to spilling over the end of the changing table and his 9-month overalls start to look tight on him, it becomes more clear -- it truly is one very short year.

Cookbook Signing at Country Crossroads

This Saturday, Nov. 13th, Ison and I are heading to Country Crossroads Gift Shop in Osage Beach, MO (my home town). I will be signing copies of my newest cookbook "At Our Table", written by Roxie Kelley, published by Andrews McMeel. It was released earlier this year and is the 5th book in our series of hard cover illustrated cookbooks that began with Just a Matter of Thyme 18 years ago. These books have sold over a million copies -- it's hard to believe that a little dream we had 18 years ago has grown into such a collection.

I hope you'll stop by and visit with us. It's a beautiful store -- the perfect place to begin your holiday shopping!
